For over 25 years Steve has been helping customers to achieve their IT goals using networking technologies. Since joining Brocade in early 2012, he has been delivering demonstrations of what Brocade’s solutions and products make possible in the data centre and cloud. His current focus areas are Ethernet Fabrics, software networking and automation. Steve is a regular speaker at Brocade’s EMEA Innovation Centre.
Prior to Brocade, Steve held various positions at Cisco Systems and Tandem Computers in which he helped customers across Europe to successfully design large scale networks in the data centre, service provider and enterprise sectors.
Principal Systems Engineer
Paul carries over 15 years’ experience in network design and has international experience working on a range of Data Center verticals including HPC, Multi-Tenant Cloud and IXPs.
Paul’s career at Brocade was born from Brocade’s acquisition of Vyatta and he leads global virtual teams, developing new product solutions for Software Defined Networking with use cases for both OpenFlow and OpenStack integration. Paul views technology as a business enabler, evangelizing the use of Data Center networking technologies to support enterprise and SP business goals.
Curt Beckmann has worked in networking for two decades as a chip designer, system architect and product manager. He has represented Brocade at the Open Networking Foundation (ONF) since its creation in 2011 and is the founding chair of the ONF’s Forwarding Abstractions Working Group (FAWG), which is making OpenFlow more practical, scalable and interoperable. He also works on OpenDaylight projects related to OpenFlow. Since being named Brocade’s EMEA CTO, Curt is now based in Paris.
Vice President, Technology, EMEA
As Vice President, Technology, EMEA, Brian Levy is responsible for bringing Brocade’s vision for cloud strategy and virtualized infrastructure to the market. Levy will also be charged with providing insight and communicating product vision and direction internally and externally, to both customers and analysts.
Before joining Brocade, Levy served as Juniper Networks CTO Service Provider Sector EMEA, a role in which he supported the service provider sales organization with $1bn revenue and worked in collaboration with the development teams in order to bring new products to market. As the global lead within Juniper for SDN and NFV initiatives, he worked closely with customers, partners and development teams to introduce and advocate SDN in the industry. Levy has held many senior positions in the industry working for both suppliers and service providers for HP – he was the global CTO for their Media and Communications Business and he was the Group Technology Officer of British Telecom.
Principal Systems Engineer
With more than 20 years’ experience in the networking industry, Stephen is a key member of Brocade’s System Engineering team, specializing in SDN/software networking and Service Provider Networks.
Stephen works hand-in-hand with customers to build out networking strategies that can meet immediate needs while scaling to support future demand. Prior to his tenure at Brocade, Stephen has held similar roles at Cray Communications, Cable & Wireless and Foundry Networks (prior to its acquisition by Brocade).
Senior Product Manager: Campus Networks
Simon has over 25 years’ experience in enterprise and telecoms networking across a broad range of telecommunications technologies including routing, switching, WLAN, mobile data and multi-service systems. At Brocade, Simon is responsible for the Campus and non-fabric Data Center products including the ICX range of switches and also the local relationship with Aruba which delivers integrated WLAN and security solutions. In addition to spending time with Brocade’s EMEA customers and partners, he is also a regular speaker within the EMEA Innovation Centre.
Director, EMEA Sales Development and Programs
Mark has over 28 years within the IT Storage and Networking industry working for large organisations such as EMC, Data General Clariion, and Fujitsu, as well as a number of high tech start-ups. Mark joined Brocade in 2004 and was previously Global Account Manager for HSBC and RBS before various roles in Sales Management encompassing the EMEA West Region of UK, Benelux and Nordics supporting our largest customers. Since 2013 Mark has been responsible for EMEA Sales Development and Programs assisting the salesforce transition to The New IP addressing many customer business issues and enabling them to achieve their business goals.
Senior Manager Partner Organisation, EMEA West & BeNeLux
Holding a BSc (Hons) in Computing & Informatics, the study of capturing, storing, retrieving and manipulation of information, Lee has over 15 years’ experience in the Data Centre IT market. Lee has held various roles helping organizations across all markets to transform their infrastructure by capitalizing on latest technologies and staying ahead of industry trends leading to more efficient & automated Data Center infrastructures. Lee holds a number of industry certification across both Storage and Network companies’ technologies as well as ITIL certification. Lee currently heads up Brocade’s EMEA West & BeNeLux Partner Organization, supporting the go-to-market of Brocade technologies across the OEM, SI and VAR ecosystem.
Lee is a keen industry spectator and a regular speaker within Brocade’s EMEA Innovation Centre.
EMEA Service Provider Systems Engineering Manager
With nearly 30 years’ experience in the networking industry, Julian Smith runs Brocade’s EMEA Service Provider Systems Engineering team, specializing in delivering flexible and cost effective open solutions utilizing Cloud and IP networking technologies. As a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant, Julian has worked hand-in-hand with many large Service Providers and Strategic customers to build out their networking strategies and deliver complex network solutions to meet commercial requirements and business needs. Julian and his team are spearheading Brocades transition towards delivering Software Defined Networking and Network Functions Virtualization solutions driven through open source frameworks such as Open Daylight , OPNFV and Openstack.
Prior to his tenure at Brocade, Julian has held a variety of roles at HP, Cognito, Cray Communications, Cable & Wireless and Foundry Networks
EMEA Principal Architect - Data Center
Juan Tarrío, Principal Architect for Data Center solutions at Brocade, is responsible for consultancy for Brocade’s Ethernet Fabric, Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies within EMEA. Juan plays a pivotal role in industry discussions based on the future of Data Center networking in addition to supporting strategic customers and partners design their next generation networks.
Senior Marketing Manager: Western Europe
Beth Brown has over 15 years’ experience in the enterprise networking and storage sector across all routes to market; direct, channel, SP and OEM. Beth has been responsible for leading Brocade’s strategic marketing across Western Europe for the last three years and is specifically orientated to the ‘New IP’ and the virtualised data centre.
Beth is a keen industry spectator and a regular speaker within Brocade’s EMEA Innovation Centre.
Simon carries over 15 years’ experience in network design and implementation, working for companies such as Cisco and Stratacom.
At Brocade, Simon is responsible for supporting Partners, Alliances and Consultants to advise across Brocade’s IP/Ethernet switching and routing portfolio including SDN and NFV.
Simon views technology as a business enabler, evangelising the use of Data Centre networking technologies to support enterprise business goals.
